Jeemes L. Akers

Jeemes L. Akers was born in Middletown, Ohio, on September 22, 1948. He served in the US Air Force as a Chinese linguist, and was awarded an Air Medal for actions in battles during the Vietnam War. Jeemes was a professor of history and philosophy at Alice Lloyd College as well as founding Director of The June Buchanan School. During those years he was responsible for various artistic projects for the Development Office and illustrations for The Appalachian Heritage magazine. He has experience with the languages German, Russian, Chinese and Thai and work experience as a school administrator, visiting professor at the College of the Ozarks, attorney, and manager of a congressional election campaign. He retired from the US intelligence community with over 15 years of experience, focusing on issues of Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern security, terrorism, cyber and weapons proliferation. He served overseas in several postings, primarily in Southeast Asia. He has traveled extensively in Asia, Europe and Oceania, with deployment to several stations abroad and has prepared analytic reports, studies and briefings for high-level Intelligence Community and White House policy makers on a variety of security-related issues.

Jeemes is a prolific writer with Prawnocuos Rising constituting the first work of a trilogy of books set in the near future (fifteen years in the future), as well as other works dealing with a variety of Christian-based issues. He is responsible for a published Casenote, "Boyle v. United Technologies Corp. - In Search of the Definitive Interpretation of the Government Contractor Defense" 16 Northern Kentucky Law Review 603 (1989). Jeemes is also an avid artist with illustrations in the book Miracle on Caney Creek and several magazines. He works primarily in the medium of pastel chalk with pen and ink overlay, and has sold several numbered lithographs of his major works. 

He currently resides in southwest Ohio with his wife of 43 years, Imogene Akers. He has two daughters and seven grandchildren. He remains active in church affairs, is a board member of Westwin Elements, Inc. (an Oklahoma-based start-up to build our country’s first large-scale cobalt and nickel refinery), and is a Senior Fellow and regular contributor at Americans for Intelligence Reform (AFIR).
